Department Summary:
The office of Communications and Outreach (C/O), located in the College of Graduate Studies (CoGS) works to help streamline messaging to prospective students, applicants and matriculated students. Tasked with the oversight of marketing our graduate programs and hosting a variety of recruitment events, this group also helps to develop innovative programming and coursework at the graduate-level. Communications and Outreach also works to organize and deliver graduate courses for professional development and graduate programs at various off-site locations within Massachusetts and internationally.

Position Summary:
The Associate Director of Marketing and Recruitment works to strategically market both individual graduate programs as well as the College as a whole. Serving as the primary conduit for prospective students, the Associate Director's role is of critical importance and requires an individual that is detail oriented and innovative in order for the group to be successful.

Supervision Received: Reports to the Director, Communications and Outreach
Supervision Exercised: To be determined.

This is an exempt, APA unit position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement.

Essential Duties:
1. Assist the Directors of Graduate Admissions and Communications and Outreach, the Dean of Graduate Studies and the Director of Integrated Marketing and Communications in the development, implementation and evaluation of marketing strategies and programs for recruitment of academically talented and diverse graduate students enrolling in the College of Graduate Studies certificate, licensure, degree and CAGS programs offered both on and off campus.
2. Maintain databases for targeting marketing materials to prospective students; consistently evaluate and upgrade database software to ensure accuracy and quality of service.
3. Work in concert with the Integrated Marketing Committee in the development of all College of Graduate Studies promotional material such as program brochures, view book, and other materials as needed.
4. Utilize Banner, the student information system, Ellucian Recruiter (CRM) and other software to access data and reports required to support planning within the College of Graduate Studies.
5. Work closely with the academic departments and the Assoc. Director of Graduate Admissions to meet their graduate program marketing needs and assist them in designing and updating academic department web pages. Plan, organize and direct information sessions to recruit graduate students.
6. Coordinate the maintenance of the College of Graduate Studies web site, including collaboration with the Director of Graduate Admissions for vibrancy, consistency and accuracy of messaging
7. Develop and maintain external relationships with higher education institutions, area businesses, and electronic educational marketing venues to market graduate programs and ensure coverage of BSU graduate student activities.
8. Collaborate with the Associate Director of Graduate Student Services to design, produce, and edit a graduate student newsletter.
9. Some evening and weekend responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree
2. Minimum of 3 years related experience
3. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
4. Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills.
5. Ability to travel to represent the College of Graduate Studies at recruiting events.
6. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, prospective students, school systems and the community.
7. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
8. Experience in computer software applications such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Quirk, Adobe PageMaker and FrontPage.
9. Experience in web page design and maintenance.
10. Experience developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans.
11. Understanding of institutional branding and positioning.
12. Demonstrated ability to understand the strategic use of interactive marketing and the proper maintenance of a web site to ensure pertinent, accurate and timely information.
13. A valid Drivers License.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master degree preferred
2. Higher Education experience
3. Experience with Ellucian Recruiter or similar CRM as well as ExactTarget or similar email service
