Conrad N. Hilton Chair in Computer Science

Xavier University of Louisiana and the College of Arts and Sciences seek applications and nominations for the Conrad N. Hilton Chair in Computer Science. This endowed position will be filled by an individual who merits the rank of Professor and who has a recognized record in teaching, scholarship, and service. Outstanding applicants in all areas of computing will be considered with desired research areas of networking, operating systems, computer architecture, or high performance computing. A PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field is required.

The Department of Computer Science offers Bachelor of Science programs in computer science, computer information systems, and a dual-degree computer engineering concentration. The Department has 40 undergraduate majors and three tenure-track faculty members. The individual filling the Chair will be the program leader for the Department; is expected to teach 2 courses a year; and will provide strategic vision and leadership to interdisciplinary scholarship, faculty mentoring, effective recruitment and retention strategies, and curriculum development; all while building collaborations with local technology companies.
