The Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System invites applications and nominations for the position of President of McNeese State University.  The individual selected as President will assume the position during 2017. 

Established in 1939, McNeese is categorized as an SREB Four-Year 4 institution, as a Carnegie Master’s College and University (larger programs), and as a COC/SACS Level IV institution. The University offers undergraduate and graduate programs that address state and national educational needs. McNeese State University offers approximately 67 degree programs through the Colleges of Business, Education, Engineering and Engineering Technology, Liberal Arts, Nursing, Science, General and Basic Studies, and the Doré School of Graduate Studies. The oak-shaded campus located in Lake Charles, Louisiana features 77 buildings on 608 acres, including an original structure - the Francis G. Bulber Auditorium - that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Board and University are seeking a president who will be a visionary, entrepreneurial leader and who has both academic and senior administrative success; is committed to fundraising, economic development, and community relations; and is student-centered.  Further, the President should empower others through transparent communication, collaborative management and shared governance.

Candidates will be expected to have high level executive experience with demonstrated performance of exceptional quality.  Those holding an earned doctorate and having a background in higher education administration are preferred.  Management experience in other fields will also be considered.
