The Board of Supervisors of Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College System are pleased to announce the search for the dual position of President of Southern University and Chancellor of Southern University at Baton Rouge. We welcome both nominations of qualified candidates and self-submission of a letter of interest describing your unique qualifications for the position of President-Chancellor. Based upon review of the letter of interest, an invitation for formal application may be extended.
The President-Chancellor of the Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College System leads the Nation’s only Historically Black College University System and its Baton Rouge Campus. The President-Chancellor reports to an appointed Board of Supervisors and is responsible to the Board for the conduct of the affairs of the University System and the Baton Rouge Campus. The President-Chancellor is the chief executive officer of the Southern University System and the Baton Rouge Campus and also serves as the Secretary to the Board. The President-Chancellor supervises the campus chancellors and System employees and makes personnel, policy and management recommendations to the Board. Additionally, the President-Chancellor is a member of all faculties of the System’s component institutions. Hence, the Board seeks a spirited visionary to steer the System and SUBR into a new era of prominence and success, while preserving the System’s rich legacy, proud tradition and upward trajectory.
