Physical Requirements Extended periods of standing and/or sitting; traveling long distances via car.
Shift Days; Monday - Friday. Some evenings and weekends as required (Exempt/Hourly position; 40 hours/week).
Job Summary The purpose of the Quality Assurance and Waiver Assurance contract is to improve the efficiency of the waiver assessment and auditing tools used to administer the program. The candidate for this position must be a registered nurse in the State of Kentucky and will work out of Frankfort, Kentucky, at the Cabinet for Health and Family Services building. Some travel is required.
The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Provides clinical decisions, completes waiver audits, and collects valuable data to ensure research objectives are met.
Understands and stays up-to-date on waiver regulations and associated application procedures.
Performs accurate and timely audit assessments based on Medicaid eligibility and requirements.
Reviews resolutions to member issues evaluated for the Medicaid Waiver Management Application ( MWMA ).
Provides feedback on audit reports.
Conducts analysis of services within the waiver as well as issues identified within the MWMA , system communication, member and provider calls, communication from the ombudsman s office and/or legislation.
Attends professional meetings, civic meetings or other meetings to gather or distribute program or technical information.
Coordinates with various Cabinet Departments on related task forces and committees.
This position is grant-funded and will be located in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Knowledge of physical and psychological development. Excellent analytical and decision making skills. Ability to communicate effectively and interact with physically disabled and elderly individuals. Ability to travel throughout the state on a regular basis with the ability to travel out-of-state for overnight trips upon occasion.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No
Preferred Education/Experience Associates in Nursing degree or higher. BSN preferred. Prefer experience working with the elderly and physically disabled. Driver's license is highly desired due to extensive travel.
