WORK STUDY STUDENT WORKER

*This is an Off-Campus work location*

The Family Nurturing Center located at 8275 Ewing Blvd., Florence, KY 41042, is seeking to hire a WORK STUDY STUDENT WORKER to perform the following:

Position Summary : Responsible for performing a wide variety of clerical duties, including organizing, coordinating, scheduling and performing various office functions. This position will assist in ensuring effective communication between staff, volunteers, clients, and visitors.

Primary Duties :
  1. Answers telephone in a professional manner and provide information and assistance or routes caller to appropriate staff member. Takes phone or visitor messages and delivers to appropriate individual. Provides information and referral services as needed.
  2. Greets visitors and volunteers to the office in a professional manner and directs them to appropriate individual or location.
  3. Maintains the appearance of their general office areas on a daily basis.
  4. Works collaboratively and communicates appropriately with other staff members.
  5. Types, completes data entry, prepares reports, updates computer files, and proofreads documents as requested.
  6. Maintains confidential client files: ensures files are complete, keeps a record of attendance, update client files, completes change of addresses as needed and filing.
  7. Maintains current forms and ensures the availability of such forms.
  8. Makes copies, collates and staples materials as requested in a timely manner.
  9. Operates office machines including computer, fax, copier, and communications equipment.
  10. Responds respectfully and effectively to people of all cultures, classes, race, ethnic backgrounds, and religions in a manner that recognizes, affirms, and values the worth of individuals, families, and communities and protects and preserves the dignity of each.
  11. Adheres to ethical standards of professionalism including maintaining confidentiality of each client/family.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned.


Job Requirements : Education: High school diploma or GED certificate. Experience working in a fast paced environment where change is a constant. Recommended Qualifications : Prefer experience in performing administrative and/or clerical duties in an office setting.

Skills: Competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, etc.), Access or other software/database systems. Ability to work under deadlines and multiple task pressures, in a fast paced environment. Ability to handle sensitive information, maintain high level of confidentiality and to foster community partnerships. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. Must be detail oriented and demonstrate initiative and problems solving skills.

Equipment to Be Used: Must be capable of operating office machines such as computer, calculator, copiers, shredder and communication equipment.

HOURLY RATE: $10 per hour
