Dean of Arts and Humanities

This dean level position reports to the Provost and is directly responsible for the leadership, organization, and management of the Arts and Humanities Division.

•Provide leadership and supervision of full-time and part-time faculty and staff within the Arts and Humanities Division (new hires, evaluations, implementation and expansion of courses offerings, mentoring, professional development guidance and opportunities).

•Assist with recruitment and retention of division full-time and part-time faculty.

•Provide guidance and leadership to the division to monitor and facilitate course offerings, schedules, and locations; program and course enrollments, delivery methods, curriculum changes, program annual review/assessment, and advisory committee/member involvement.

•Handle student complaints and personnel issues.

•Maintenance of division budget (program and administrative areas, oversight and reconciliation of program requests for supply needs).

•Work collaboratively with fellow college deans and reports directly to the Provost. 

•Provide leadership for the division including dealing with student complaints, representing interests of the division in campus meetings and community events, strategic planning for the growth and maintenance of division.

•Provide guidance to the college’s SACSCOC Quality Enhancement Plan.

•Provide leadership for the college through participation in college committees.

•Responsible for coordinating and reporting college assessment of general education competencies.

•Serve as the Associate of Arts Program Coordinator.

Master’s degree, minimum of six (6) years full-time teaching experience or equivalent at the college level, and demonstrated leadership in higher education. Experience with academic curriculum design; innovative and effective teaching materials and methods; evaluation of academic course or program effectiveness and student learning outcomes assessment; management of operating budgets and plans; information technology literacy skills and knowledge of online learning; and employee supervision and evaluation. Proven communication, human relations, and organizational skills necessary to progressively lead the division.  Other preferred qualifications include:  a collaborative style of leadership; strong commitment to the college’s student-centered philosophy; understanding of diversity and inclusion; and an understanding of working within a multi-campus college.

$70,000 (Minimum Annual Salary under 12-Month Contract).  SKYCTC offers an excellent fringe benefit package.
