Dean, Fairmount College of Liberal Arts & Sci

Wichita State University seeks an experienced, dynamic, and visionary leader to serve as the Dean of the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.  This senior administrative appointment will assume leadership of a very strong and diverse unit, with a growing national reputation. 

The university is located in Wichita, Kansas, a diverse metropolitan area of approximately 640,000, and is located along the I-35 corridor.  The economic base of the region is in technology-based industries, aviation and health care.  The university has a strong research base and is taking a leadership role in developing innovation and technology in the area.

The Dean reports directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President and serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. The primary responsibility of the Dean is to advance the academic quality and stature of the college. This requires a visionary and dynamic leader who is committed to building sustainable support, enhancing the reputation and programs of the college, and promoting a culture of excellence and growth.  The new Dean will be charged with advancing the mission of the college and its academic units and collaborating closely with the community to enhance the research and technology transfer capacity of the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
