Position Overview
A Field Education Liaison in the School of Social Welfare serves in a part-time capacity with responsibility for being the central contact between the School field education office, BSW and MSW students who are placed in agencies, and their supervisors. The liaison works within the Field Education Program to help ensure the students are provided appropriate social work learning opportunities to successfully meet the practicum requirements in the Bachelor and/or Master of Social Work degree programs.
Applicants will be reviewed and placed in a pool to be considered for teaching positions as needed. Applicants will be accepted throughout the year. The successful applicants must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins.
Position may be located on the Lawrence Campus, Edwards Campus, or Fort Hays State University Campus.
Job Description
100% Field Education Liaison:
- Liaison for approximately 10-20 students placed in agencies and all related activities detailed in Field Education Handbook.
- Attendance at scheduled liaison orientation meeting for new field instructors, student orientation to practicum and field forums.
- Keep Field Education office informed of any changes in the field and problems that may arise.
- Completion of Required paperwork for monitoring field education activities.
- Assigning mid-year grades fall semester and final grades spring semester, along with forwarding final evaluations.
