UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI

A Postdoctoral Fellowship is available with Dr. Kelly Brunst in the Department of Environmental Health at the University of Cincinnati in the College of Medicine. She is seeking a talented and strongly self-motivated individual to join her transdisciplinary research team. Her research focuses on studying the effects of chemical (e.g., ambient air pollution, diet/nutrition, and tobacco smoke) and non-chemical (e.g., psychosocial stress, interpersonal trauma) exposures on the programming of biological mechanisms related to neurodevelopment and respiratory health in children. Her overall research strategy is to identify molecular biomarkers using various 'omics-platforms (i.e. epigenomic, mitochondriomic, metabolomic) that can be used to predict those children at increased risk for adverse outcomes resulting from environmental exposures.

Responsibilities
  • Data analysis
  • Manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed publications
  • Presentations at local and national conferences
  • Development of new studies and grant applications


Minimum Qualifications

PhD, MD or MD/PhD degree in epidemiology, public health, or other related field

The Ideal Candidate
  • An interest and/or previous training in molecular epidemiology
  • Formal training in molecular epidemiology; expertise in omics platforms a plus
  • Experience writing manuscripts and publishing peer reviewed articles
  • Experience preparing grant submissions
  • Strong data analysis skills
