Instructional Designer and Facilitator

We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as an Instructional Designer and Facilitator - Teaching and Learning Center.

This role is integral to the design, development and facilitation of training sponsored by the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC). Reporting to the Manager, Learning and Organizational Development (L&OD), the Instructional Designer and Facilitator will provide instructional design and development expertise for creating employee professional development training and institutional training by collaborating with L&OD, TLC staff and subject matter experts, as well as providing engaging workshop facilitation.

Duties:
1. Work with the L&OD team, Faculty Professional Development Coordinator and Staff and Faculty Development Committees to design and develop employee training for College of DuPage employees.
2. Facilitate and deliver training workshops sponsored by the TLC. Workshops may be on staff and faculty development topics, supervisory topics, institutional initiative topics, etc.
3. Apply principles of quality instructional design using proven instructional design models while developing training and materials with the L&OD team, TLC team and subject matter experts.
4. Provide hands-on assistance for educational technology integration in courses to both the L&OD team during training development and to faculty during consultations.
5. Use instructional design methodologies and current learning technologies to create scripts and storyboards for tutorials and multimedia, screen capture tutorials and graphic elements, scenario-based simulations, facilitator guides, participant guides, job aids and experiential activities.
6. Conduct reviews of existing training and provide suggestions for improvement as requested.
7. Develop courses in COD's learning management system using instructional design, HTML, and media development skills.
8. Assist in the development of templates to be used by the L&OD team during training development or for faculty development courses and course materials.
9. Assist in the design and development of an overall evaluation plan as well as session evaluations.
10. Manage or contribute to special projects as requested by the Manager, L&OD.
11. Other related duties as requested.Requirements:
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Learning and Development, Education, Organizational Development or in a related field or have equivalent business experience.
Preferred: Master's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Expertise in delivering training workshops to a wide variety of audiences. Experience and educational training in designing both traditional and e-learning training and materials. Experience applying instructional design methodologies. Experience integrating instructional technology into training and courses. Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite. Basic HTML skills. Experience in learning management systems. Basic experience in Dreamweaver and Photoshop. Basic experience in Web 2.0 tools (i.e., blogs, wikis, etc.). Some experience with audio and video editing.
Preferred: Knowledge of the ADDIE model. Experience working in teams. Blackboard LMS experience. College-level teaching experience (full or part-time). Community College experience. Strong project management and follow-up skills. Strong ability to multitask and continually prioritize changing project tasks and deliverables.
