Senior Applications Developer II



Function:
Develop, test and implement software solutions on a variety of technical platforms provided at the College; troubleshoot and resolve application software and data problems.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Research software/service options, create detailed system designs, develop (code), test, document, and implement software solutions to satisfy the needs of end-users.

2. Work with software/service providers, network, desktop or other application technical staff to troubleshoot and resolve problems; make necessary changes to software applications or database data to resolve or clean up any issues.

3. Work with end-users to clarify requirements/issues; enhance functionality of existing software and/or develop new applications.

4. Coordinate with end-users the preparation of test data and organization of testing schedules to assure quality, accuracy and cost-effective performance.

5. Provide basic user documentation and/or initial user training on new applications.

Physical Demands:
Light Work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Position requires close visual acuity to perform activities (i.e. preparing/analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes).

Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

2. Four years technical programming experience in a comparable technical environment using some combination of Datatel Envision/Studio, Datatel Elf, Unidata, QueryBuilder, SQL, Excel, Access, FTP, Net, SQL Server or comparable technologies.

3. Solid verbal and written communication skills.

4. Strong programming and testing skills.

Desired Qualifications:
1. Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.

2. Prior work experience at a college.
