Function:
Adjunct teaching faculty provide instruction aligned with the college's strategic goals and evaluate students' progress to facilitate achievement of their educational goals.

Essential Responsibilities:
Deliver Instruction
1. Conduct assigned classes and/or labs
2. Prepare lessons
3. Provide course syllabus (which shall include grading standards, attendance policies, classroom behavioral expectations, course outline and contact information)
4. Verify student enrollment and submit grade sheets

If a lab is involved:
5. Prepare labs
6. Enforce lab safety procedures

Evaluate Student Progress
1. Keep accurate record of student performance
2. Provide students with timely feedback

Provide Student Assistance
1. Maintain office hours and voice-mail/e-mail communication
2. Refer students to student support services
3. Accommodate special needs students

Required Qualifications:
1. Current license as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant in Illinois.
2. Minimum of a bachelor's degree for Academic program faculty.
3. Minimum of an associate's degree in physical therapy assisting for Clinical Program faculty.
4. For academic and Academic Clinical Coordinator of Education faculty a minimum of 3 years experience in clinical practice in a variety of settings, including active participation in the physical therapist/physical therapist assistant working relationship.
5. Competence by demonstrating knowledge, skills, safety and effectiveness in the delivery of care and currency in physical therapy practice, including current CEU's.
6. Experience in a variety of areas of teaching, (academic, continuing education, in-service, clinical), including expertise in at least one area.
7. Education and experience in instructional design and methodology.
8. Knowledge of contemporary curricular content for the education of the physical therapist assistant.
9. Academic integrity.
10. Behaviors that value the role of the physical therapist assistant and the ability and willingness to advocate for the physical therapist assistant.
