Illinois Central College invites applications for the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer position.
Provides leadership for all academic programs (transfer and career) as well as non-credit courses and programs in support of the College’s mission. Ensures quality instruction, student success, integrated planning and the assessment of student learning outcomes to meet educational needs of students in a diverse college environment. Responsible for the implementation of academic policies and procedures, accreditation, faculty, academic administration and division budgeting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Provides institutional leadership in planning, establishing priorities, assessing needs, maintaining progress and evaluating outcomes for all instructional courses and programs in support of the college’s mission and strategic plan.
- Monitors and reports on enrollment trends, program and course outcomes important for evaluating progress and instructional quality.
- Prepares and submits to the President immediate and long-range goals for instructional programs and appropriate academic support services in support of College goals.
- Provides the vision and leadership for the development and support of programming to support the needs of local, regional and state business and industry stakeholders.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with all district feeder high schools.
- Provides leadership to foster collaboration that results in institutional advancement.
- Provides leadership and instructional administrative oversight for all instructional campuses/locations.
- Coordinates and supports budget development for areas of responsibility.
- Collaborates with cabinet members to integrate and align efforts to maximize institutional outcomes.
- Ensures compliance with the requirements and standards for state (ICCB), regional (HLC) and specialized accreditation.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
- Earned doctorate from an accredited institution with five years of administrative and academic experience at dean’s level or higher.
- 5 years teaching experience in higher education, preferably at a community college.
- Proven experience in the understanding and implementation of process management principles and quality improvement in the academic arena.
- Possess excellent employee relations, team building and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate and foster cooperative College and community working relationships.
- Experience in or detailed knowledge of improving student learning outcomes through cross functional team innovation.
