Job Description:

Basic Function and Responsibility:

Under general supervision, responsible for financial and accounting activities for the Educational Foundation, including accounting, analysis, and reporting. Supports the operations of the Educational Foundation through compiling and disseminating financial data and Educational Foundation information and targeted fundraising activities. Works with College accounting and Financial services in the administering of Educational Foundation grants, scholarships, awards and special funding for faculty, staff and students.                                                                                                               

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, recommends, and implements financial and accounting procedures and operations to ensure that Educational Foundation resources are appropriately controlled in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.  Manage the internal grant distribution of funds.
  • Gather, compile, and provide financial and informative data, reports, and analysis for a variety of reporting requirements, reconciliations, projections, and Educational Foundation committees and quarterly meetings. 
  • Responsible for compiling and submitting all IRS forms related to the Educational Foundation and for all audits. 
  • Prepare analysis of all fundraising events.
  • Manage, maintain and organize Financial Edge database, including codification structure and donor research, to ensure accuracy of information on individuals, foundations, corporations, and other organizations.
  • Use appropriate software packages to provide donors with a variety of tax, philanthropic, and financial options. 
  • Function collaboratively with other College Foundation staff, Educational Foundation Board of Directors, College business office, and outside legal and financial advisors to ensure and maintain adherence to acceptable ethical standards.
  • Assist with preparing mailing lists for various solicitations including the Annual Fund Appeal, Employee Campaign, and invitations to special fundraising events.
  • Assist with Planned Giving vehicles such as wills, trusts, annuities, insurance gifts as needed. 
  • Exercise discretion in handling confidential materials.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

 


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Financial Edge software preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and best practice.
  • Requires ability to mentally attend and visually concentrate on a significant amount of detail work.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed and travel between campuses and to off-campus events.
  • Ability to interact professionally and tactfully with people of different levels of education, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences, and to exhibit an adequate level of respect to fellow employees and the College community at large.

 


Additional Information:

Salary: $46,982 annually

HOURS: Monday - Friday 8:15 am - 5:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend meetings or special events
