Job Description:


Essential Functions of the Position:
  • Construction of a course syllabus, consistent with the generic course syllabus, that stipulates course objectives, content, and grading criteria,
  • Preparation of course presentations and instructional materials (as appropriate),
  • Delivery of instruction, including being prepared for and meeting courses and laboratories (if appropriate) at scheduled times,
  • Compliance with departmental and institutional policies and procedures including but not limited to submission of midterm and final grades,
  • and Compliance with institutional procedures.

Requirements:


Continuing Education is looking to hire a quality instructor to lead and manage students and direct learning activities in the classroom and laboratory for our EKG Certification prep program. Our 60 hour, 6 week EKG Certification program convenes in the evening and prepares students to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) CET certification. Required qualifications include:
  • Bachelors required (Master's degree preferred)
  • Relevant teaching and educational experiences and/or experiences in the discipline/area to be taught
  • Knowledge/awareness of National Healthcareer Association CET Certification
  • Awareness and knowledge of student learning styles (e.g., Auditory, Kinesthetic, and Visual) and teaching strategies to address each style
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy including ability to use online tools to supplement teaching and facilitate email access
  • Must be able to teach with enthusiasm and implement relevant teaching strategies to develop the skills of students.
  • Willingness to support the goals of the Continuing Education division and strive to create an effective learning environment for a diverse population of students.
