Vice President and Chief Financial Officer/Comptroller

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois announces a search for the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer/Comptroller of the University of Illinois System, the appointment to be effective on or before July 1, 2018, or as designated by the Board. The Vice President and Chief Financial Officer/Comptroller is one of the senior officers of the University of Illinois System and is responsible for providing fiscal planning and management of financial resources to support the strategic priorities of the institution.  The position is responsible for all financial functions and oversees the University of Illinois System's revenues, costs, capital expenditures, investments, and debt. As a member of the President’s senior leadership team, the VP/CFO position involves dynamic and innovative oversight of the system's budget process across all three universities as well as the system offices.

 

Established in 1867 as the public land grant university of the State of Illinois, the University of Illinois System has achieved international recognition as a center of higher learning. With universities in Urbana‐Champaign, Chicago and Springfield, including a major health sciences center in Chicago, the U of I System’s (University’s) reach is extensive. The system (university) enrolls over 83,300 students and employs more than 29,500 (FTE) faculty and staff who contribute to the missions of teaching, research, public engagement and economic development. More than 722,000 alumni hold University of Illinois degrees. The university’s FY 18 annual operating budget of $6.5 billion is made up of extensive Federal research funding, gifts from alumni and friends, and support from the people of the State of Illinois.

The Search Committee invites letters of nomination, applications (letter of interest, full resume, and contact information of at least five references), or expressions of interest to be submitted to the search firm assisting the University System.
