JOB DESCRIPTION
The Program Coordinator will assist the Iowa Campus Compact team in coordinating the Iowa College AmeriCorps Program (ICAP) which includes 85 part-time, 85 summer, and 9 full-time members serving at 12 college campus sites and 40+ nonprofits.
Related duties include:
- Supervising and training AmeriCorps members
- Training and communicating with local site supervisors
- Onboarding AmeriCorps members into payroll, timekeeping, grant systems
- Reviewing grant documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Reviewing AmeriCorps member timesheets
- Resolving grant compliance concerns in a timely manner
- Evaluating program results and implementing program improvements
- Coordinating trainings and site visits with other staff as needed
This position requires significant travel across the state of Iowa in order to support program needs at AmeriCorps host sites.

Iowa Campus Compact (IACC) is a statewide association of college and university presidents who are committed to fulfilling the civic purposes of higher education by educating students for active citizenship and building strong communities. This is accomplished by integrating community service, service-learning and community engagement opportunities into student's academic and co-curricular activities.
IACC is a small staff of an Executive Director, Assistant Director, VISTA Leader in Des Moines, Iowa and a wider network of civic engagement and service-learning faculty and staff around the state. IACC administers two statewide AmeriCorps programs, other student and faculty programming, member conferences and professional development opportunities and other support for civic engagement and service-learning on our member campuses.

QUALIFICATIONS
Successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of relevant experience. Experience may include a combination of employment, internship and/or significant community service in a community-based learning environment, higher education, or a non-profit setting. Other desired qualifications:
- Experience with and knowledge of higher education in general and service-learning in particular
- Experience in program and grant management, preferably AmeriCorps programming
- Experience with and knowledge of volunteer recruitment, retention, and training, and community organization capacity building
- Strong writing ability
- Self-motivated and able to take initiative with proven organizational and time-management skills and excellent attention to detail
- Experience with necessary technology including Microsoft Office, web site management, webinar platforms and social networking
- This position also requires successful completion of criminal history background checks
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Light lifting (up to 30 lbs) may be required. Occasional long days around retreats and conferences. Ability to travel cross-state by car. Some days working primarily on computer in office.
