Position Description:

UNI's Department of Technology seeks applications for two full-time positions as Instructor or tenure-track Assistant / Associate Professor of Construction Management and / or Technology and Engineering Education, available August 2017.

Education Requirements:

Applicants for Instructor rank must have master's degree from an accredited university in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, MBA, Technology & Engineering Education, or related field. For Assistant / Associate Professor, the successful candidate must hold terminal degree from an accredited university in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Technology & Engineering Education or related field.

Required Qualifications:

Rank of Instructor requires a master's degree from an accredited university in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, MBA, Technology & Engineering Education, or related field, and minimum of five years of U.S. Construction Industry experience. Candidates must also demonstrate effective communication skills; a commitment to engaged learning; and willingness to develop partnerships with local and national construction-related businesses and organizations.

Rank of Assistant Professor requires terminal degree from an accredited university in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, MBA, Technology & Engineering Education, or related field, and 5-10 years of U.S. Construction Industry experience. Candidates must also demonstrate effective communication skills; a commitment to engaged learning / scholarship and service; and willingness to develop partnerships with local and national construction-related businesses and organizations.

Rank of Associate Professor requires terminal degree from an accredited university in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Technology & Engineering Education, or related field, and 5-10 years U.S. Construction Industry experience. Candidates must show evidence of successful experience developing and teaching courses in construction management, civil engineering and / or Technology & Engineering Education or related fields, with emphasis on applied and engaged learning. Candidates must also demonstrate effective communication skills; a commitment to engaged learning / scholarship and service; and willingness to develop partnerships with local and national construction-related businesses and organizations.

Desirable Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with professional certification, such as the Certified Professional Constructor (CPC) or Professional Engineering (PE) designation; Industry Project Management experience; minimum of 10 years of U.S. Construction Industry experience; and / or evidence of successful teaching or education courses in pedagogy.
