Assistant Director Diversity Recruitment

Percent of Time/Week:100% Service Schedule:Calendar Year

Position Description:

Functions as primary staff that oversees diversity recruitment; leads development and implementation of the multicultural recruitment plan; plans and implements on and off campus recruitment programs for diverse populations; supports overall Admissions operation by reviewing admission applications, meeting with prospective students and their families; serves as a member of the Admissions leadership team; serves as liaison to various university departments and programs serving diverse populations; and contributes to campus retention programming for diverse populations.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required.

Required Qualifications:

At least two years of admissions, student services, college advocacy, community outreach, or related experience required. Excellent oral and written communication skills; experience organizing programs and events for diverse student populations; and a commitment to student recruitment and knowledge of the demographics of diverse and multicultural populations also required. Frequent travel, including overnight travel will be necessary. Frequent evening and weekend work will also be necessary. Student experience will be considered.

Desirable Qualifications:

Master's degree; demonstrated success in building cooperative working relationships with families, community based organizations, faculty, alumni, students, high school and community college staff; ability to multi-task; excellent attention to detail; experience in leading or advising student groups; experience managing data and analysis for reports; and proficiency in Spanish (ILR Level 2 Limited working proficiency) preferred.
