Administrative Assistant I - Military Science

Nature of Work:
Full-time office administrator for the Department of Military Science at Armstrong. The successful candidate will provide administrative assistance to the Officer-in-Charge, faculty, military personnel, students, and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GEDProficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation softwareDemonstrated knowledge of office procedures and office management techniquesAbility to work independently, manage multiple projects, supervise student workers, maintain records, and communicate professionally.Ability to obtain a Military ID CardComputerized basic skills tests typing or data entry, Microsoft Word, spelling and grammar administered following initial review of all applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a military and/or academic workplace.

Essential Duties:
Serves as first-level customer service representative for the department.Maintains confidential department records.Plans and coordinates non-curricular events and activities.Supervises student workers.Assists military instructors with university procedures, policies, and practices.Ensures compliance with University policies.Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.

Salary: $27,000.00
