  • Position is 10-month, non-tenure-track and has the faculty rank of lecturer.
  • The primary purpose of this position is to teach primary Adult Health & Gerontology related courses and provide clinical supervision.
  • The nursing program is housed in the state-of-the-art Health and Science Building that is designed primarily for teaching nursing and offers the latest technology in simulation laboratories.

The Opportunity: This is a lecturer position and therefore the emphasis or both workload and expectation of faculty performance is on excellence in teaching in didactic and clinical settings in Nursing. Additionally scholarly activity involvement is recognized when relevant to informing instruction of classes, i.e. the scholarship of teaching and/or practice.

To Qualify: Candidate must have a master’s degree in nursing and a doctorate degree in nursing or a closely related field and teaching experience and recent clinical experience in the area of medical-surgical. Candidate must be eligible for a Georgia Nursing License. 

The successful candidate will exhibit expertise in clinical practice and education, and have the ability and desire to teach in pre-licensure baccalaureate and RN-to-BSN completion programs. Other qualities required include: 

  • A commitment to service-learning, student-centered learning and teaching methods, and assessment
  • Outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • The highest standards of personal and professional integrity and credibility
  • The ability and commitment to utilize technology and web-based teaching

About the Nursing Program

The pre-licensure program has had a long and successful history of preparing knowledgeable and highly skilled registered nurses.
