Assistant Professors of United States History
The History Department at Emory University (Atlanta, Georgia) announces a cluster hire of up to three tenure-track Assistant Professors of United States history. We are seeking scholars who study the history of race, ethnicity, and inequality in the United States in any time period. We are also interested in work on these subjects that engages significantly with the history of the United States, but is rooted in other geographic locations. We are particularly interested in scholars of African American history and in scholars of US engagement with the Pacific World. All applicants must have a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student body. Intersectional approaches to these topics are welcomed but not required. A Ph.D. in history or a related discipline is required. (Current Ph.D. candidates should confirm in their cover letters that their Ph.D. will be awarded by August 1, 2019.)
