The Florida A&M University (FAMU) and Florida State University (FSU) College of Engineering seeks a visionary and accomplished academic and administrative leader as the Chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Current areas of the department include Environmental and Water Resources Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation and Construction Engineering.
The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering is a unique institution that combines two outstanding universities with overlapping but distinct missions – the nation’s top public HBCU (historically black college or university) with the nation’s 33rd ranked public university, which is one of the State of Florida’s two Preeminent Research Universities. As such we provide an outstanding research and entrepreneurship based education to one of the most diverse student populations in the US. Faculty positions at the college are tenured at either Florida A&M University or Florida State University, but all faculty have joint status at both universities.
