Job Description
The payroll assistant will assist with processing of biweekly payroll process and provides general office support duties.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of full time payroll or accounting experience.
Any appropriate combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Salary Range
$18.00 hourly (Hours are Monday - Friday 29 hours per week)

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties
General office duties such as:
• Posts employee time, including hours worked and special pay, as well as deductions to the payroll system.
• Checks with supervisors if there are any discrepancies in terms of authorized overtime, shift differentials, or reasons for absences, either paid or unpaid.
• Audits daily direct deposit transactions. Prepares leave estimates related to FMLA , sick leave pool, leave donations, and workers compensation.
• Answers questions and inquiries from departmental payroll representatives concerning employee payroll issues.
• Distributes the biweekly total payroll cost report and departmental leave reports.
• Conducts audits as required and makes adjustments to pay when necessary.
• Prepares off-cycle payroll checks as needed.
• Assists with compiling responses to records requests such as subpoenas or public records related to payroll and leave history inquiries.

Other Duties
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
