Computer Lab Monitor (OPS Pooled Position)

Job Description
The OPS Computer Lab Monitor works directly with students, monitoring an assisting them in the computer lab. Maintains printers, toner and provide a clean operational area for students. Ensures a quiet learning environment.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be a full-time student at Florida Gulf Coast University, at the time of hire and throughout the appointment.
Have a minimum GPA 2.5 and in good conduct standing with the University

Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a help desk role in a higher education environment.
Student in the U. A. Whitaker College of Engineering.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work comfortably with all individuals in a diverse multicultural environment.
• Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and FERPA regulations with any information regarding students.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to report to work reliably and timely.
• Ability to provide a friendly, welcoming, and customer service-oriented environment.
• Ability to use good judgment in problem solving and decision-making.
• Ability to coordinate and organize work assignments.
• Ability and willingness to learn new tasks, systems, and procedures.
• Ability to accept and embrace changes in operations, procedures, or policies.

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties
General duties such as:
• Ensures computer lab is kept at a reasonable noise level.
• Ensures that no food or beverages are consumed in the computer lab.
• Ensures that the computer lab is stocked with supplies.
• Assists patrons with computer and printer problems.
• Reports all non-working equipment to appropriate department.
• Reports missing equipment to appropriate department.

Other Duties
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
