Community Relations Assistant - University Advancement

Job Description
The Community Relations Assistant assists with the day to day activities of the Community Relations office. Assists with community relations, communication with outside organizations, and department events as needed. The position assists with administrative tasks, document preparation, development and updating promotional materials and other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Must be enrolled as an undergraduate student at Florida Gulf Coast University during time of hire and work period and have a minimum GPA 2.5.
Must be in good conduct standing with the University.
Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in an office setting.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports.
• Ability to meet deadlines for work assignments.
• Ability to represent the university in a positive and professional manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with a diverse group of university faculty, staff, students, and the general public.

Physical Demands

Salary Range
$8.46 - $15.00 per hour, dependent on qualification and experience.

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties
Typical duties include:
• Greets visitors and provides information
• Answers phones and routes calls
• Accurately files paperwork, makes copies, and compiles documents
• Assists with the preparation and execution of Community Relations projects and events.
• Assists with the creation and distribution of materials for the community relations office.

Other Duties
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
