The School of Nursing at the University of Delaware announces an exciting opportunity for a 9-month, full time continuing track Assistant or Associate Professor to join an award winning faculty including nationally recognized leaders in advanced practice, education and policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES: We seek a highly motivated individual to teach Adult Health Nursing in our undergraduate and graduate programs (classroom/clinical/simulation). Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the BSN program but the candidate may contribute to other teaching efforts at the graduate level as needed. As other faculty in the continuing track, participation in scholarship, student advisement and service activities is an expected part of the faculty role.

The School of Nursing (http://www.udel.edu/nursing/) is a thriving academic unit of 40 faculty, approximately 725 undergraduate students and 180 graduate students. Accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, the School offers dynamic pre-licensure baccalaureate, and post-baccalaureate doctoral programs in practice (Doctor of Nursing Practice) and research (PhD in Nursing Science). The NMPCC is one of three free standing clinics that provides interdisciplinary healthcare to the community within the context of cutting-edge research and education. The NMPCC is directed and healthcare services are provided by nurse practitioners. It is a rapidly growing interdisciplinary primary care practice that provides prevention and wellness services, chronic disease management and mental health care to a diverse patient population. The NMPCC also offers a telehealth Parkinson's Clinic and has an interdisciplinary approach to innovative and evidence-based healthcare. See http://www.udel.edu/nmhc/ for more information.

The School is part of the College of Health Sciences, which also includes the Departments of Behavioral Health and Nutrition, Kinesiology and Applied Physiology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physical Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders. The College includes an exciting new clinical research facility on the STAR campus in one of the nation's leading life science regions.

Founded in 1743, the University of Delaware combines tradition and innovation, offering students a rich heritage along with the latest in instructional and research technology. Located in scenic Newark, Delaware, within 2 hours of New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. with a railroad station in town, the University is a Land Grant, Sea Grant, Space Grant, and Carnegie Research University (with very high research activity, a designation accorded to fewer than three percent of the degree-granting institutions in the U.S.), and with external funding exceeding $200 million. The University is also recognized with the Community Engagement Classification from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. A state-assisted, privately governed institution, the University enrolls approximately 17,000 undergraduates and 4,000 graduate students.

SALARY: Competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Faculty at the University have regularly received annual cost-of-living and merit salary increases and the benefits package is one of the best in the nation.
