Research Associate II, Biological Sciences

The mission of the University of Delaware's Department of Biological Sciences is to create and disseminate knowledge that increases our understanding of living organisms in the contexts of both normal biology and aberrant processes that contribute to disease or developmental abnormalities. This mission is carried out through original research, publications, and teaching students within the discipline and related scientific fields. This mission is strongly supported by the scholarly activities of our faculty, which focus on the areas of cell biology, developmental biology, genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, neurobiology, and physiology.

Under the general direction of the Principal Investigator, the Research Associate will participate in research to identify mechanisms that contribute to the regulation of cell architecture and mechanical properties that contribute to cell differentiation, morphogenesis and aging. A wide range of experiments involving whole-animal, molecular, genetic, biochemical and microscopy approaches will be carried out. The Research Associate will maintain a notebook describing experimental methods and results, participate in research discussions, and interpret research results.
