Program Coordinator, Enrichment

PAY GRADE: 28E

CONTEXT OF THE JOB:

Horn Entrepreneurship serves as the University of Delaware's creative engine for entrepreneurship education and advancement. Built and actively supported by successful entrepreneurs and thought leaders, Horn Entrepreneurship empowers aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs as they pursue new ideas for a better world.

The program coordinator, working under limited direction from the manager, enrichment programs, provides tactical leadership, operational support and input into strategic decision making for the Siegfried Leadership Fellows and Delaware Innovation Fellows programs (www.udel.edu/DIF). The program coordinator also provides support for other, closely-related Horn Entrepreneurship academic and enrichment offerings. The program coordinator, which is a new position, plays a critical role in supporting the development, optimization and growth of enrichment offerings.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • For the Siegfried Leadership Fellows Program
  • Collaborate with the Horn director, enrichment manager and others to set strategic goals, measurable objectives, and budgets; monitor and report on progress toward goal accomplishment.
  • Collaborate with members of the Horn Entrepreneurship marketing team and the Faculty Director for the Certificate in Entrepreneurial Leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for recruiting students into the program.
  • Plan and execute enrichment activities and events for the Siegfried Fellows, including interactions with the program's namesake and representatives of the Siegfried Group.


For the Delaware Innovation Fellows Program

  • Collaborate with the Horn director, enrichment manager and others to set strategic goals, measurable objectives, and budgets; monitor and report on progress toward goal accomplishment.
  • Collaborate with members of the Horn Entrepreneurship team and the University's Office of Admissions to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for recruiting students into the program.
  • Plan and execute enrichment activities and events for student innovation fellows.
  • Lead teams of student community champions who are charged with developing a sense of identity and community among program participants.


Other Enrichment Programs & General Responsibilities

Provide support for other Horn Entrepreneurship academic and enrichment programming, as needed. This might include: assisting with basic academic advising tasks, assisting with event execution, coordinating program activities, representing Horn Entrepreneurship at recruiting events and other tasks, as assigned by the manager, enrichment programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, entrepreneurship, business, leadership, education or a related field and one to three years of relevant experience (through internships or fulltime employment).
  • Experience in program management, project management, marketing and entrepreneurship strongly preferred.
  • Ability to use customer relationship management software (Salesforce), content management systems (for web editing), spreadsheets and presentation software.
  • Highly desirable knowledge and skills include: strategic planning, analytical thinking, relationship management, website management, event planning, volunteer management and networking.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for collaboration with internal and external constituents in an effort to further the mission of Horn Entrepreneurship.
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently and re-prioritize; ability to successfully adapt to rapid change.
  • Special requirements: Ability to work a flexible schedule, as the responsibilities of the position will require participation in some evening and weekend activities. Domestic and international travel may also be required.
