CONTEXT OF THE JOB: The purpose of the postdoctoral fellowship is to provide advanced training for those who have completed a psychology internship in a college or university counseling center or a similar agency. The postdoctoral experience requires participants to be involved in the full range of psychological activities that professional staff members engage in and it also allows for the development of specialized skills in areas that relate to counseling center work. While there are required activities (individual counseling, initial consultations, outreach, and after-hours emergency coverage), fellows have the opportunity to develop advanced skills and knowledge in an area of professional interest with a mentor/advisor.

The Center is a multi-disciplinary unit that is accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services and sponsors a doctoral internship in psychology that is accredited by the American Psychological Association. The current staff consists of 14 psychologists, two psychiatrists, four doctoral interns, three postdoctoral fellows, and five support staff.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applications are invited from persons who will complete their doctoral degree in counseling or clinical psychology prior to the fellowship start date. A doctorate from an APA-approved psychology program and an APA-approved internship are preferred. The successful applicant should demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based, culturally responsive treatment and an interest in university counseling center work and college student development.

This is a full-time position, available August 6, 2019 through August 5, 2020. The salary is $36,467 plus basic student health insurance, dental coverage, and support for professional travel. Fellows have access to the University's libraries, e-mail, Internet, recreational facilities, and cultural and athletic events.
