The newly established Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSCD) program in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Delaware invites applications for 5 tenure-track faculty positions (open rank). We seek creative, productive individuals with a strong commitment to advancing basic, translational, and clinical research in the areas of phonological disorders, motor speech disorders, voice and resonance disorders, language disorders (children or adult), and swallowing disorders. The successful candidates will maintain an active, funded program of research, mentor PhD and master's students, and teach in the professional MA program in Speech-Language Pathology. Opportunities are available for secondary appointments across the university, interdisciplinary teaching, and collaborative research. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders or closely related area.

GENERAL INFORMATION: The CSCD program and associated clinic will be housed in the Health Sciences Complex (pictured above), an exciting new 100,000 sq. ft. clinical research facility that, in addition to numerous research laboratories, includes the College's physical therapy clinic and primary care clinic. State-of-the-art facilities for the CSCD program are currently under construction.

Ranked second, nationally, among the best places to study the health professions by College Factual, the College of Health Sciences is a thriving academic unit of over 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students and 100 faculty with outstanding research and teaching facilities. The College also includes the departments of Behavioral Health and Nutrition, Kinesiology and Applied Physiology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physical Therapy, and the School of Nursing. With annual research expenditures in excess of $13 million, the college currently houses several large, interdisciplinary grants with significant funding from the NIH and DoD. Excellent research teams exist in the college in the areas of neurological disorders, cardiovascular health, and other chronic disease conditions, as well as biomechanics and rehabilitation science. There are also strong programs at UD in linguistics and cognitive sciences, neuroscience, biology, psychology, and biomedical engineering, as well as numerous collaborative linkages with our college's clinical partners.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Compensation packages are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Faculty at the University have regularly received annual cost-of-living and merit salary increases and the benefits package is one of the best in the nation. Relocation and start-up funds are available. Appointment date negotiable; classes begin in Fall 2016.
