Description:
The Instructional Technology Consultant serves American University faculty and staff by carrying out functions as Trainer, Consultant, Web & eLearning Support Specialist.
As an Instructional Technologist Consultant, this position will provide support with planning, designing, developing, and evaluating educational tools. This position will help problem-solve, teach, and collaborate with students, faculty, and staff.
The Instructional Technology Consultant will also develop and design WordPress websites for a variety of pedagogical and communication purposes.
Educational Requirements:Candidates must be working towards a graduate degree (MA, MS, MEd, MFA, PhD) or already have a graduate degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must be able to
- Work collegially with faculty and to empower them in the appropriate, effective use of educational technologies
- Teach both faculty and students in workshop and one-on-one settings
- Exercise initiative, work independently, and multitask
Expertise in five or more of the following is required:
- WordPress
- Web design and production (HTML and CSS)
- Helpdesk/Technology Support
- Instructional Design
- Blackboard
- Scholarly Research
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Microsoft Office Suite
Additional Information:Candidates must be willing to commit their time during the 2014-2015 academic year, with the possibility of extending the contract as desired.
