Web and Social Media Producer (Media Producer 1), UCP 6


The Web and Social Media Producer specializes in web and social media strategy, web page creation, and web content oversight, combining excellent communication and editorial skills with technical expertise in web creation and maintenance as well as emerging practices in social media. This position will report to the UConn College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Director of Communications and work closely with the CLAS Computer Support Group.

The successful candidate will develop, implement and assess a content strategy, workflow and governance process that emphasizes consistency, audience perspective, and user experience for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences' College, Department and Center web presences. The position requires an individual who is detail-oriented and able to tailor and implement customized web architecture within the constraints of a content management system, while also articulating a larger content strategy to key stakeholders, including faculty, staff and department heads.

The Web and Social Media producer will also oversee the College's social media presences and serve as a consultant and liaison for Department and Center social channels. Working with the CLAS Communications team, the incumbent will produce tailored social media strategies and content for the College's range of audiences, including students, parents, faculty, staff and alumni.

Using sophisticated data analytics, the web and social producer will assess the success of web strategies and social campaigns, report findings, and adjust strategies accordingly.

The selected candidate must be an excellent collaborator. They will work closely with web and marketing colleagues in the UConn University Communications and Information Technology Systems offices to develop UConn-centered web best practices, apply and champion the UConn brand, and serve as a liaison on larger projects. They will partner with staff in Departments and Centers to facilitate trainings and work to establishing processes for web and social best practices throughout the College. They will also liaise with the UConn Foundation on alumni and philanthropy communications best practices at the College level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, Media or related field, or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
  2. At least one year of experience in web and social marketing production
  3. Demonstrated ability to develop, build, write, edit, and assess web pages using content management systems
  4. Experience using web technologies such as HTML and CSS
  5. Demonstrated ability to create, implement and assess social media strategies across platforms
  6. Excellent project management and organizational skills
  7. Ability to interact constructively with client groups, including academic faculty and staff and individuals from a widely diverse set of backgrounds
  8. Experience with Google analytics

APPOINTMENT TERMS
