The University of Connecticut is seeking an enthusiastic individual to fill a full-time position as a PeopleSoft/Oracle Change Management/ Upgrade /Security specialist in the Information Technology Services division. The individual will provide support for the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions (CS) 9.0, HCM 9.1 applications. You will be joining a team of experienced IT professionals managing multiple PeopleSoft/Oracle applications and providing technical services to the University community.

The successful candidate will provide support for CS 9.0 bundles, PeopleTools upgrades, and PeopleSoft security maintenance as well as analysis, design, development, and production services for the delivered PeopleSoft application.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform PeopleSoft and PeopleTools upgrades
  • Download and install PeopleSoft Update Manager Images, bundles, and fixes
  • Provide analysis, design, development, and production services for the delivered PeopleSoft application
  • Migrate PeopleSoft objects from one instance to another
  • Maintain security in the PeopleSoft applications
  • Organize, prioritize workloads, meet deadlines & manage time effectively
  • Documentation and communications
  • Create and manage cut over plans and document the Go-Live activities
  • Work in conjunction with end users to gather business requirements
  • Work flexible hours for production moves and occasional maintenance, 5:30 am - 7:30 am and weekends

Additional duties performed at the level of Senior Computer Programmer/Analyst (UCP 9) include:
  • Promoting highly collaborative, team-oriented environment, working closely with all levels of application development staff and third-party vendors and teams; investigating new technologies relevant to assigned areas; taking a leadership role in self-education. Maintains a high level of general and specialized knowledge, extensive training and significant working experience to make informed technical recommendations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
  • At least two years of application programming and/or DBA experience
  • Excellent analytical reasoning and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written skills
  • Excellent oral communications skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, prioritize work
  • Experience working in a team environment

Additional minimum qualifications to be considered for the rank of Senior Computer Programmer/Analyst (UCP 9) include:
  • Minimum of five years of experience with the PeopleSoft application development/programming or upgrading
  • Evidence of ability to independently analyze and translate assigned programs into operating programs and prepare detailed program documentation.
  • Evidence of ability to provide leadership in programming activities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with PeopleSoft Security
  • Experience using the PeopleSoft Application Engine
  • Experience using the PeopleSoft Integration Broker Tools
  • Experience using Web Services
  • Experience using PeopleSoft Change Assistant
  • Experience applying PeopleSoft Bundles/Fixes
  • Experience with Campus Solutions 9.2
  • Experience using PeopleSoft Upgrade Manager (PUM)
  • Experience using Deployment Packages (DPKs)
  • Experience with cut over planning and documenting the Go-Live activities
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Experience in PeopleSoft or other ERP systems implementation
  • Experience working in Higher Education
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of Student Administration and/or Human Resources, Payroll
  • Experience writing and executing SQL statements
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Experience SQR programming or similar programming language
  • Hands on experience in object oriented programming
