Client Services Manager (Manager of Financial Services), UCP 8


Office of the Bursar is seeking applications for the position of Client Services Manager. Under the general direction of the University Associate Bursar, the Customer Services Manager is primarily responsible for managing the operations of various functional areas, specifically the Client Service Center (CSC), Student Disbursements, Non-Student Accounts Receivable and Tuition Collections. The Client Services Manager oversees the day-to-day customer service issues with students, parents, other University departments, State and Federal agencies and/or others. These issues include but not limited to short term loan process, late fee appeals, scholarship deferrals, the payment plan process, student refunds, financial aid disbursement and escheatment. The Manager will also oversee all aspects of recovering and collecting past due debt to the University. This position serves as the Bursar's Office main point of contact for marketing and informational/orientation materials and is responsible for managing all training activities and outreach events that occur at the Storrs campus, regional campuses as well as for Bursar Office staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field.
  2. At least five years' professional experience in a regulatory environment with a demonstrated progression of responsibility.
  3. Knowledge of the regulations and policies governing financial control of government and University issued monies.
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills and decision-making ability.
  5. Ability to manage and resolve escalated concerns.
  6. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the general public, internal customers and external constituencies.
  7. Prior customer service experience in a call center and/or processing production environment.
  8. Outstanding organizational skills, accuracy, detail oriented with strong focus on achieving results with the ability to deliver on multiple projects in a team environment.
  9. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and groups.
  10. Willingness and ability to travel and work occasional evening and/or weekend hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Master's degree in Business Administration, or related field.
  2. Knowledge of KFS, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Office products.
  3. Previous experience in a university or college setting.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a permanent full-time position. Salary will commensurate with training and experience.
