The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communications skills, be self-motivated and able to work effectively with a team that shares responsibilities across functions.  The candidate will have to interact confidently with scientists, science administrators, potential donors, and with the Chief Scientific Officer, Chief Executive Officer and a volunteer Board of Directors.  Finally, the candidate must have a record of creative problem solving and innovation in establishing and maintaining programs along with a demonstrated record of effective mentoring within diverse doctoral level populations.

A doctoral degree in life science or medicine is highly preferred; however, highly-qualified applicants at the bachelors or masters degree level, especially those with at least 5 to 7 years of substantial experience in diversity, will be considered.  Familiarity with cellular and molecular scientific research, medical sciences, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries is desirable.  Additional desirable qualities include at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience in life science research, and demonstrated experience with enhancing diversity, team-building, networking and project management.  Willingness to travel is necessary and occasional work on weekends or odd hours may be required.
