FT/Tenure Track Instructor - Business (Business Law)

Job Duties

  • Teach courses in Business Law, Intellectual Property Law, Criminal Law, the Administration of Justice, Evidence and related subjects both in the classroom during the day or evening and online;
  • Participate in curriculum development;
  • Engage in the expansion and implementation of assessments for courses, programs and learning outcomes with the goal of increasing student success;
  • Participate in textbook adoption with persistence toward providing low cost options for students;
  • Engage in academic and career advisement; participate in the Law Pathway Initiative and assist with advising the Pre-Law Society Club;
  • Serve as an active committee member in college, departmental and student organizations;
  • Maintain currency in subject matter and instructional techniques and engage in development of instructional support strategies and interventions, including tutoring, early alert and peer mentoring.


Minimum Qualifications

  • JD or LL.B. (NOTE: Courses in aspects of law for application to a particular discipline may be classified, for minimum qualifications purposes in the discipline of the application.)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Passed the Bar Examination
  • Experience in practicing civil litigation and/or criminal law
  • Experience in teaching college courses, developing and teaching courses for online delivery, or have comparable instructional experience.

Pay Philosophy
Starting salaries for FT Faculty are based on a combination of experience and educational achievement. Initial placement is within the starting salary range. Further advancements are based on longevity and educational growth.
