Starting Salary Range: $65,000 - $69,000/annually. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Under the general direction of the Director of Accounting Services (Director), the incumbent manages the Financial Administrative Services and Transactions (FAST) team which provides accounts payable services for the campus and over 47,000 active vendors. The FAST/AP team has three supervisors and 14 additional FTE reporting to the Manager. The incumbent meets frequently with the Director and as needed, with the Director and Campus Controller to provide information, advice, analysis, policy interpretations and recommendations.

In this role, the FAST/AP Manager exercises independent judgment in analyzing and solving complex problems associated with accounts payable services and policies for the entire campus. The incumbent is called upon to modify and improve existing programs or implement new procedural strategies that affect the entire campus. The FAST/AP Manager position requires extensive knowledge of campus financial policies and procedures associated with compliance, procurement and accounts payable processes (i.e. check write processing, PO related payments, the travel program, Settlement Management, Pro-Card and all direct payments). Incumbent should have proven managerial and decision-making skills, and the ability to work with a variety of customers (faculty, staff, students and outside vendors).

The FAST/AP Manager is expected to provide leadership and direction consistent with campus and University objectives and unit responsibilities; work in an efficient, organized and ethical manner; exercise careful stewardship over University funds; communicate appropriately and effectively with others and work constructively with others towards achieving unit and campus objectives.

Qualifications include:

•Superior knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, fund accounting, financial reporting, internal control principles, cost accounting, and budgeting and financial analysis.
•Superior experience and knowledge of fiscal management principles with the ability to interpret and apply complex University, federal, or state agency policies when managing and analyzing financial processes.
•Substantial experience in managing and supervising the budgetary and financial operations of a complex organization.
•Skill in supervising employees including hiring, interviewing, organizing work flow to accomplish established objectives, delegating responsibility, training, evaluating performance and conducting disciplinary actions as needed.
•Excellent leadership skills and supervisory experience in a team-based setting.
