Manager Marketing

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Marketing Manager will assist in the development and execution of comprehensive, integrated marketing strategies for University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. This individual is responsible for understanding the target market and their educational needs. They will work with cross-functional partners to execute strategies and tactics to reach the respective audience. The Marketing Manager is measured on increases in brand awareness among the target market, with an emphasis on driving prospective student inquiries, conversion and retention of students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop marketing plans to support new program launches and existing programs; work with academic leadership, product management, field recruitment, and enrollment management to develop an in-depth understanding of the target market; apply these learnings to developing marketing plans to reach respective audiences.
  • Represent marketing as a member of the product cross-functional team. Identify issues and engage appropriate marketing team members as necessary.
  • Ensure marketing plans and messaging are aligned with overall USAHS positioning and strategies.
  • Set marketing channel goals; work with field recruitment, enrollment, and product manager to develop tactical plans with channel-specific approaches (i.e., direct mail, web marketing, paid search, etc).
  • Develop unique messaging and positioning for the target audience which highlights differentiators, outcomes, and value of USAHS programs.
  • Lead cross-functional execution of all marketing plan initiatives, delivering marketing plan elements on time and within budget parameters.
  • Track performance of marketing plans through measurement and analysis of prospective student inquiries, conversion, and retention to understand effectiveness and ROI.
  • Develop working understanding of USAHS business plans and strategies.
  • Interface effectively with product management, field recruitment, enrollment management, and academic leadership to ensure clear understanding of program elements such as admissions requirements, course curriculum, program outcomes and differentiators, and professional accreditations.
  • Provide timely and accurate communication to field recruitment, enrollment, product management, PR/communications, and management team to ensure awareness of and participation in all marketing events.

External Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • 5-7 years of progressively more responsible positions in marketing, preferably in higher education
  • Experience supervising and managing a professional staff preferred but not required
  • Undergraduate degree in marketing or related field required; graduate degree in business or marketing preferred.
  • Strong effective communicator.
  • Highly developed, demonstrated teamwork skills.
  • Ability to coordinate the efforts of a team of diverse creative employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to increase productivity and continuously improve methods, approaches, and departmental contribution. Commitment to continuous learning.
  • Expert in digital and social media strategy with a demonstrated track record.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in holding conversations with customers, customer evangelism, and customer-focused product development and outreach.
  • Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and provide useful advice and input across the company.
  • Ability to lead in an environment of constant change.
  • Experience working in a flexible, employee empowering work environment.
  • Familiarity and skill with the tools of the trade in marketing including PR, written communication, website development, brand management, market research, product packaging, and creative services.
  • Experience managing external PR and communication consulting firms and contractors.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills.
  • Previous experience in the higher education marketplace is a plus.
