ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop comprehensive marketing strategies targeted at various audience levels to effectively position the university and its programs in the marketplace
- Develop market-specific customer insights and messaging
- Develop and implement multi-channel content strategy to drive brand strategy and programs to targeted audiences
- Lead marketing driven public relations plans to promote the university, its programs, its faculty and achievements through key media outlets; identify and pursue opportunities for thought leadership in the industry and with media
- Identify growth barriers in critical markets and drive strategy for resolving
- Collaborate closely with lead generation, product management, and enrollment teams to guide and direct the implementation of communications strategies.
- Understand and leverage key marketing metrics to help drive business growth
- Represent a university-wide perspective within the marketing communications team, in both strategy and planning
- Work with academic leadership, product management, product development, and enrollment management to develop an in-depth understanding of the target market and apply these learnings to developing a communications strategic plan to reach target audiences throughout the U.S.
- Represent the marketing communications team as a member of the marketing leadership team.
- Identify and promote marketing communications/content best practices
- Develop, lead, and coach a team of marketing professionals and/or external consultants
External Requirements
- Minimum 8-10 years marketing or communications management experience required.
- Bachelors' degree required, MBA or graduate level education desirable but not necessary for success.
- Must have proven ability to develop and execute marketing communications strategies for targeted audiences.
- Experience in generating and distributing multi-channel content (stories, video, photography, etc.)
- Experience in understanding market research and business analytics; integrate with market and product knowledge, to develop marketing strategies and plans for the audience.
- Experience managing strategic projects, ability to understand big picture. Ability to get strategy implemented.
- Exceptional problem solving and analytic skills.
- Possess strong leadership abilities in the areas of managing and executing marketing communications programs and tactics.
- Outstanding writing and editing skills are a prerequisite for this position, along with the ability to tailor communication style to target audiences.
- Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization and gain consensus/approval on ideas and creative direction; a good listener, collaborator, and influencer.
- High level of enthusiasm and dynamism; functions well in a team-driven and highly creative environment.
- Outstanding project management skills, with a passion for delivering quality work on a timely and cost-effective basis
