Director, Brand Marketing and Marketing Management

The Director of Brand and Marketing Management for the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences will oversee the development and execution of marketing strategies and be responsible for the comprehensive planning, implementation, and management of marketing plans. This individual will ensure that the university's brand and/or program positioning and messaging in the marketplace is consistent and emphasizes unique differentiators to drive achievement of budgeted growth rates. The Director also will be responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of professionals and external suppliers in understanding their respective audiences in targeted markets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop comprehensive marketing strategies targeted at various audience levels to effectively position the university and its programs in the marketplace
  • Develop market-specific customer insights and messaging
  • Develop and implement multi-channel content strategy to drive brand strategy and programs to targeted audiences
  • Lead marketing driven public relations plans to promote the university, its programs, its faculty and achievements through key media outlets; identify and pursue opportunities for thought leadership in the industry and with media
  • Identify growth barriers in critical markets and drive strategy for resolving
  • Collaborate closely with lead generation, product management, and enrollment teams to guide and direct the implementation of communications strategies.
  • Understand and leverage key marketing metrics to help drive business growth
  • Represent a university-wide perspective within the marketing communications team, in both strategy and planning
  • Work with academic leadership, product management, product development, and enrollment management to develop an in-depth understanding of the target market and apply these learnings to developing a communications strategic plan to reach target audiences throughout the U.S.
  • Represent the marketing communications team as a member of the marketing leadership team.
  • Identify and promote marketing communications/content best practices
  • Develop, lead, and coach a team of marketing professionals and/or external consultants


External Requirements
  • Minimum 8-10 years marketing or communications management experience required.
  • Bachelors' degree required, MBA or graduate level education desirable but not necessary for success.
  • Must have proven ability to develop and execute marketing communications strategies for targeted audiences.
  • Experience in generating and distributing multi-channel content (stories, video, photography, etc.)
  • Experience in understanding market research and business analytics; integrate with market and product knowledge, to develop marketing strategies and plans for the audience.
  • Experience managing strategic projects, ability to understand big picture. Ability to get strategy implemented.

  • Possess strong leadership abilities in the areas of managing and executing marketing communications programs and tactics.
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills are a prerequisite for this position, along with the ability to tailor communication style to target audiences.
