Position Description:
BUSINESS LAW - California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California, Orfalea College of Business (Accounting and Law Area), invites applications for full-time, academic year, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor tenure-track positions in business law, beginning September 12, 2019 (or a mutually acceptable time). Rank and salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The applicant must demonstrate or have the potential to develop a strong teaching and research record. Candidates must be Scholarly Academic under AACSB standards.

Cal Poly strongly values diversity and inclusion, especially in the classroom and among its areas of study. This Business Law Professor tenure-track position search will occur at the same time as a university-wide cluster of searches designed to increase curricular coverage of areas related to diversity and inclusion, as well as to promote inclusive teaching strategies across the university. If the successful Business Law Professor candidate's research overlaps with the area of diversity and inclusion, there will be an opportunity to join and support these university efforts.


Minimum Qualifications (Staff Only):


Required Qualifications:
- A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Bar admission in any state
- An excellent academic record demonstrating the ability to engage in high quality teaching and scholarly research at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Relevant professional experience as an attorney providing legal advice for businesses.
- Demonstrable ability to teach several law-related courses/subjects offered in the curriculum such as business law, international law, employment law, real estate law, intellectual property, corporate social responsibility and/or business regulation.
-Service to the Area, College and University, and when needed new course development.
-Demonstrable commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications:
-J.D. from a "US News Top 50" law school.
-Active bar license.
-MBA, or other relevant masters or doctoral degree, from a recognized high-quality academic institution.
- An ongoing record of business-related scholarly articles published in high-quality law journals.

Special Conditions:
