Position Description:
APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PART-TIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM, AND APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.

ETHNIC STUDIES, PART-TIME LECTURER POOL - The Ethnic Studies Department, College of Liberal Arts, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers with positions available as determined by need and funding during the fall, winter, and/or spring quarters of the 2016-17 academic year, beginning September 15, 2016. Responsibilities include teaching courses in Ethnic Studies and comparative cultures, particularly the lower division offerings that focus on the intersections of race, gender, and class in U.S. Indigenous, African, Latino/a, and Asian communities.


Minimum Qualifications (Staff Only):


Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree in social science or humanities is the expected academic preparation, with an emphasis in Ethnic Studies or Cultural Studies preferred. However, candidates possessing the Master's degree who have college level teaching experience in ethnic studies will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
College level teaching experience preferred.

Special Conditions:
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.
