Under general supervision, the Multi Media and Video Coordinator works independently to support Athletics' mission and scope in the areas of marketing and branding, print and electronic publications, video production, special projects/events, and media relations. The Athletics Multi Media and Video Coordinator assists management with marketing content and branding for internal and external communications.
Additionally, this position will focus on the video aspects of marketing and will be responsible for producing or acquiring video content for Gopoly.com, official social media platforms, video board content for assigned programs, and local news outlets; loading creative content to website and social media outlets; assisting in the content creation for courtside tables in Mott Athletic Center; managing video on gopoly.com; and supervising interns that will be assigned to assist with video content creation.
The incumbent must have thorough knowledge of the program and applicable communications techniques, be able to work fairly autonomously, and exercise sound judgement and discretion in the completion of assignments and projects. The work involves daily contact with Athletics staff, students, sponsors and the public.

Produce digital copy of electronically based communications for targeted internal and external audiences; collaborate with designers, photographers, staff and students, and others on the theme, design, content of print, electronic and web-based publications to maximize impact; participate in the ongoing management of electronic content for traditional and new media platforms; and develop, research, and position stories including conducting interviews and creating story content and layout.
In collaboration with the Public Affairs/ Communication Specialist III, make decisions and provide support related to project management and creative fulfillment for projects; develop and create storyboards; and edit a broad range of digital communications materials.
Develop and maintain digital communications archives for the Athletics Department.
Participate in weekly content development meeting with Marketing/Branding, Communications and Social Media departments.
Produce exciting pumper/hype videos, game highlight packages and recruiting content for various formats, including video boards, social media, website, and television.
Assist with the creation and effective execution of overall multimedia and video production strategy across all aspects of the athletics department.
Responsible for supervision of all operational and in-game production for all streamed sports.
Oversight of video board production and the implementation of on-demand content.
Assist with training of staff and camera operators.
Responsible for providing effective video production guidance to special events, as needed.
Assist in training and lead work direction of video production interns.
Promote and publicize institutional activities and programs to the campus and the public.
Capitalize on digital communications opportunities by identifying trending athletics and higher education topics; and determine strategic placement of information on traditional and new media platforms.

Minimum Qualifications (Staff Only):
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university and three years of progressively responsible experience in marketing and public relations, or a related field. A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, DEGREES, CREDENTIALS: Possession of a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain by date of hire.

Must be willing to travel and attend training programs off-site for occasional professional development.
Must be able to work overtime, occasional holidays, and adjust working hours to meet special jobs. May be called back periodically to perform work as needed on an emergency basis.
The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
This position classification has been defined as "Exempt" and is not subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
