Qualifications:
Required
An earned doctorate by start of appointment
Demonstrated potential for teaching, scholarly excellence, and the ability to connect and
work with the aviation industry
Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
Ability to support laboratory development and teaching of experimental activities
Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to educational goals of a multicultural
population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other
comparable experience

Preferred
Degree at any level in Aviation, Aeronautics, or Engineering (BS, MS, doctorate)
FAA certificate/ratings
Expertise in any of the following: aviation flight operations, flight instruction
curriculum, aircraft structures and airworthiness, aerodynamics, propulsion and engine systems, air traffic management, unmanned aerial vehicles, aircraft or turbine engine design, or wind tunnels
Work experience in an aviation-related industry

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will establish a research program related to his/her field of interest. Faculty members at SJSU are expected to participate in shared governance activities, usually in department, college, and university committee and other service assignments. Candidate must address the needs of a student population of great diversity – in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language and academic preparation – through course materials, teaching strategies and advisement.

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Starting Date: August 21, 2017
