The Position:
Applications are currently being accepted for two Police Sergeant positions in College Police, located at the District Service Center in Mission Valley. Hours vary. Selected candidates must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.

Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Interpersonal skills including tact, patience, and diplomacy Laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to the functions of the District Police Department including laws of search and seizure, arrest, legal rights of citizens, and court personnel Local, state and federal laws applicable to the police organization Oral and written communications skills Principles and practices of law enforcement management, supervision, and training Principles of Community Policing and Problem Solving methods; modern law enforcement and public safety methods Working knowledge of Federal Statutes specifically pertaining to the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)

Pay Information:
Range H ($5,593.89 $9,339.22) per month based on the current Supervisory and Professional Employees Association Salary Schedule B

Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the SPAA Supervisory & Professional Administrators Association Handbook. This position is FLSA Non Exempt and may accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment.
