The Position:
Applications are currently being accepted for Administrative Technician in the Vice President of Instruction office, located at Miramar College. Hours are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, including scheduled evening hours. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.

Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Examples of Duties and required qualifications can be found on the linked classification description.The Administrative Technician is expected to meet the qualifications the classification description displayed as Desired Qualifications and Training and Experience as well as the License upon completing the first six (6) months of employment in an Administrative Technician assignment.Some of the following qualifications may be duplicates from the list on the linked classification description.1. Demonstrated ability and experience to perform research, special studies, and analyses of a paraprofessional and technical nature; and to make decisions and make recommendations for resolution as appropriate. 2. Demonstrated experience with application and interpretation of laws, rules, policies, and regulations to perform a variety of difficult and specialized clerical and administrative duties. 3. Demonstrated ability and experience to enter and extract data utilizing databases; to create and develop spreadsheets, databases, and slideshow presentations; and to update and edit Web Page content. 4. Demonstrated ability and experience to compile, prepare, monitor, audit, and analyze expenditures related to: payroll; purchasing; budget; and grants and contracts. 5. Demonstrated ability and experience to effectively and efficiently operate office computers and other modern office equipment to perform complex technical and administrative support tasks. 6. Demonstrated ability to prepare effective correspondence, memos, and reports; and to maintain a variety of complex and inter-related records and files. 7. Demonstrated ability and experience to work collaboratively with others as well as perform in a lead and/or support role as directed. 8. Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.

Licenses:


Pay Information:
Range 22 ($3,497.41 $5,582.66) per month based on the current AFT Classified Unit Office Technical Salary Schedule

Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the AFT-Guild, Local 1931 Classified Staff Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt and may accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment.
