INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGIST (CALIFORNIA)

The University of California, Davis Department of Radiology is seeking applicants for up to three (3) full-time academic positions at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank (commensurate with credentials) in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) or Clinical Radiology series. Responsibilities include direct inpatient and outpatient clinical care in all aspects of interventional radiology; teaching medical students, residents, and fellows; and university/ public service. Teaching is required and will include supervision of medical students, residents and fellows in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Additionally, there is potential for a joint appointment with the VA Northern California Health Care System.

Candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree, be American Board of Radiology certified or eligible in Diagnostic Radiology and CAQ Vascular and Interventional Radiology and be eligible for licensure in the State of California. Qualified candidates are required to have experience in providing patient care in all aspects of clinical service for interventional radiology, including vascular and non-vascular procedures, in both inpatient and outpatient settings; experience with or ability to teach medical students, residents, and fellows; experience with or interest in clinical research; ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment.

Preferred qualifications include demonstrated administrative leadership experience to develop multi-disciplinary collaborations and affiliations with other practices and or community partners; willingness to work in other non-interventional radiology services; experience in collaborative and multi-disciplinary research; and experience in clinical trials.

Additional information about the Department of Radiology:
The Department performs approximately 400,000 exams per year and has 54 faculty with allocation for 5 full-time Interventional Radiologists. The Department of Radiology provides full diagnostic, Doppler, interventional, and RF ablation guidance ultrasound services. Equipment includes state-of-the-art General Electric LOGIQ E9 and E10 ultrasound systems for head/body and high risk fetal ultrasound procedures, as well as multimodality US / CT fusion capabilities for virtual navigation. The mammography clinic and associated vascular lab have advanced Philips ultrasound equipment for procedural tasks. UC Davis Health System provides a fully integrated electronic medical records system and a fully digital Radiology Department. The Department and the Health System have a strong commitment to academic and clinical career development.

Interventional Radiology performs over 4,000 procedures per year. There are three angiography suites (Siemens Artis Zee, Siemens Artis Zeego and Siemens Artis Bi-plane); one C-arm procedure room (OEC 9900 Elite). Equipment includes three Siemens CT Scanners in the diagnostic divisions (a Definition dual-source dual-energy, a Definition AS+128-slice, and a Somatom 64-slice); two General Electric VCT 64 slice CT Scanners; and a GE Lightspeed 16 slice CT scanner dedicated for interventional procedures. The MRI equipment consists of four clinical GE 1.5T scanners, one clinical 3T magnet, and a 1.5T musculoskeletal extremity scanner. There are additional 1.5 and 3T systems supporting research in the adjacent Imaging Research Center.
