THE UNIVERSITY
Sonoma State University's beautiful 274-acre campus is located in Sonoma County wine country, an hour north of San Francisco. FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to teaching and scholarship, faculty are expected to engage in service to the department, school, and community. Sonoma State is committed to the Teacher/Scholar model and places an emphasis on faculty support of undergraduate research. Faculty are also encouraged to participate in our distinctive, high-impact Freshman and Sophomore year programs and to foster our commitment to the CSU Graduation Initiative 2025 through excellent teaching, advising, and mentoring. THE DEPARTMENT
The University Library is passionate about student learning in a diverse, inclusive, and globally-engaged environment. Library faculty foster curiosity and motivate students, faculty, staff, and the North Bay Community to access, evaluate, attribute, and create content while acknowledging how structures of power, knowledge, and discourse are inextricably woven into their practice. The Library is a respected leader in campus initiatives and service work, and is actively engaged with faculty in campus curricular efforts. Librarians provide transformational learning in realizing the Liberal Arts and Sciences mission of the University and supporting the University President's priorities of student success, on-time graduation, and diversity.
The Library has 38 employees, including 8 FTE library faculty, and approximately 40 student employees. Our collection consists of more than 750,000 volumes (print and e-book) and about 40,000 journal titles. Opened in 2000, the University Library in the Jean and Charles Schulz Information Center is a dynamic learning facility that features teaching labs, wireless access, varied study spaces, a makerspace, an information commons, a cafe, and an automated storage and retrieval system.

DUTIES OF THE POSITION
The Sonoma State University Library seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and innovative librarian to join our team. This new tenure-track position will provide leadership and direct the creation, implementation, and assessment of online learning services and programs that support the Library in reference, instruction, and outreach, as well as University goals for student success. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with units in the Library and on campus to build, position, and assess digital learning by creating effective solutions that address the information needs of Sonoma State's diverse community. The librarian is a 12-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty position. Sonoma State University Library faculty have academic departmental liaison responsibilities that include collection development and management, information literacy instruction, and outreach, while working as a team to advance the Library's strategic priorities and engage the Library in the life of the University.

Salary and service credit depends upon academic preparation and professional experience.
Rank is Senior Assistant Librarian. Service credit considered for qualified candidates. Salary range for this position is: $74,200 - $80,878.
