Working Hours: One regular, full-time, categorically funded position, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year, at the Technology Career Institute. This position is currently funded through December 2021. Continued employment in this position is contingent upon availability of funding (grant is anticipated to be renewed) and satisfactory performance in accordance with district standards. The work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM ? 5:00 PM. The person selected for this position will be subject to assignment to any district or authorized facility during any hours of operation.

Basic Function and Other Details:
BASIC FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the Director, Center of Excellence for Labor Market Research, perform complex analytical, statistical, and programming tasks required for the provision of information to the college community via written reports, tables, graphics, oral presentations, and a variety of computer-mediated formats. Collaborate with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and external agencies on research projects for planning, decision-making, evaluation, and accountability.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The research analyst will support the San Diego-Imperial Region's Center of Excellence for Labor Market Research. The research analyst is responsible for performing quantitative and qualitative analyses on Labor Market Information (LMI) and programmatic data (e.g., Cal-PASS Plus LaunchBoard); developing actionable and meaningful recommendations; and producing data visualizations. The research analyst will assess the implications of research findings for policy and practice, and provide technical assistance to the region by responding to data requests, presenting LMI, providing LMI training, and managing research projects.

Representative Duties:
(E = essential job function)

1. Extract, verify, compile and format data from college databases and other sources for planning, decision-making, evaluation, and accountability purposes. Analyze data for trends, perform statistical analyses, and prepare comprehensive reports, including local and online presentations. (E)

2. Perform ad hoc queries and create reports from the college databases using a variety of computer languages and query tools. (E)

3. Collaborate with Academic Information Services (AIS) to develop and implement client-server and web-based delivery of information to college faculty, staff, students, and external clients.

4. Using qualitative and quantitative data to develop student profiles, including longitudinal/tracking studies. (E)

5. Develop and maintain a collection of data and reports to support program review, student outcomes, accreditation, matriculation, data integrity, and state and federal reporting requirements. (E)

6. Perform statistical analyses, both descriptive and inferential, using appropriate software packages. (E)

7. Provide support, technical assistance, and consultation related to research reports, data analysis, surveys, and special research projects to administrators, faculty, staff, students, community members, and external agencies. (E)

8. Prepare written reports with accompanying tabular, graphic, and statistical contents, descriptions of analytical methods used, and narrative of results and conclusions. (E)

9. Participate in the design, administration, results compilation, analysis, and report preparation for surveys and other types of research projects. (E)

10. Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications:

1. A bachelor's degree or the equivalent; AND

2. EITHER two years of related work experience OR knowledge of research design, methodology development or statistical analysis obtained through graduate research and/or graduate coursework.

(IMPORTANT: For work experience, a "year" is defined as equivalent to 40 hours per week for 12 months, or at least 2,080 hours.)

A degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field with an emphasis on computer science/programming, research methods, or data analysis. 2.
